Around 33,000 euros will be allocated to this grant programme for training university students and professionals in the area of water and the environment

The Aquae Foundation, which belongs to Hidralia, which has shares in Aguas de Torremolinos, presents its new programme of 32 grants throughout Spain to undertake studies at the Water School during 2018. The aim of these grants, which have doubled in number compared to last year, is to provide university students and professionals with training in the water sector, sewer systems and the environment.

For this year's grant programme, around 33,000 euros will be allocated to new graduates and professionals from around the world (mainly Spain and Latin America) who want to train in a growing sector and who need an economic boost.

Grants and calls for applications

These grants cover 50% of the enrolment fees and include two categories: grants for master's degree and postgraduate programmes (12 in total) and grants for postgraduate modules (20 in total).

The first category is comprised of four grants for a master's degree programme on Water Technology and Management; two grants for a postgraduate programme on Networks; two grants for a postgraduate programme on Supply; two grants for a postgraduate programme on Management and Operation of Water Treatment Plants; and a further two grants for a postgraduate programme on Wastewater Treatment.

The second category covers 20 grants for modules of postgraduate programmes, which is a new training initiative introduced this year, and includes five grants for a postgraduate module on Water Catchment; five grants for a postgraduate module on Wastewater Treatment; five grants for a postgraduate module on Networks and a further five for a postgraduate module on Drainage.

These grants are awarded in two calls for applications: one whose application period ends on 12 February, and another whose application period is open between June and mid-September of this year.

People who meet the following conditions could benefit from one of these grants: individually cover the full cost of enrolling for the master's degree; hold a university qualification or provide evidence that they have the necessary training to access each programme.
