Aguas de Torremolinos announces the fifth edition of the 'Stories of Smart Water' Literary Competition

First- to fourth-year secondary schoolchildren in the town can participate by sending their story of no more than 200 words in the Spanish language

Aguas de Torremolinos has announced for the fifth consecutive year the 'Smart Water' short story competition. This competition is aimed at young people between 12 and 16 years and demonstrates the company's commitment to the environment and sustainable development. The final objective is to contribute to dissemination of water culture in all municipalities in which these companies operate, and to promote the participation of the youngest members of society in the sustainable use of this resource, through literature.

Schools from first to fourth year of secondary school in the municipality can participate by sending their story, of no more than 200 words and in Spanish, to the email: certamen@hidralia-sa.es. The subject should be focused on the importance of water for society and on the concept of a 'smart city'. The deadline for sending stories is 31 January 2019.

The winner will be given a iPad and the school that has the highest number of participants will have a special mention. Last year, first prize was given to a story called ‘El Agua’ (The Water) by Elena Campos, a third-year secondary school student of Compañía de María in San Fernando (Cádiz).
